Professional discretion
Professional discretion on the part of the therapist is of crucial importance, especially in the field of psychotherapy. Clear regulations have therefore been enacted by law. In concrete terms this means that no one, i.e. neither relatives nor employers or employees of the health insurance company, shall obtain details of any kind concerning the content of the therapy.
Professional discretion also means however that I as a psychotherapist may not issue any certificates in respect of work incapacity, applications for early retirement, absence from examinations, etc. Even though this may at first come as a surprise to you, the confidential relationship in therapy cannot be reconciled by such certificates being issued.
As I consistently observe professional discretion you can rest assured that everything that is discussed during therapy remains strictly confidential.
